Cat owners must have experienced this; cats receive their owners with a greeting. They first rub against the owner's ankles with their head then with their flank, and finally with their tail that wraps the leg of the person.

Cats generally look in the upward direction towards the owner and rub again while purring. They often make small jumps with the help of front paws. It looks nice when they greet like this.

Cats have scent glands that release fluid smell. This communicates information in several parts of their bodies, including their cheeks, tails, forehead, paws, and anal areas. When they rub something or someone, they deposit this scent and it sticks to it.

Cat rubbing can also be a matter of marking, and it usually involves clawing and cheek rubbing.

Cats love to rub their foreheads, cheeks, and sometimes their whole body against their owners. This shows the sign of a feeling of love and welcoming behavior.

When cats rub against objects moving from one place to another with their scent, it seems as if they are the owners and we are one of their belongings.

Their weaving movement through your legs is an indication for you, be prepared to feed them. They will keep on moving from one place to another until you give them something to eat. This behavior is an effective way of making sure that they have your full attention.

Cats usually scratch the surfaces to sharpen their claws, but they also do this to deposit their scent. Cat's paws have scent glands, and by rubbing their paws along the objects they transfer it to that.

If scratching is a problem, then scratching posts are a must. Place these posts in areas where cats like to scratch. And move them towards your preferred location.
