They are prone to minor health problems such as eye infections and allergies. They can also suffer from hip dysplasia or other joint issues. They are a relatively healthy breed but should be checked out by a vet before you bring them home.

This is a that does not need frequent grooming sessions. They don’t shed much, so you won’t have to worry about keeping up with dog hair around the house. They are required to be brushed regularly to keep their coat healthy and free from tangles or mats. They also need their nails clipped, ears cleaned, and teeth brushed. They do not require baths, but you can bathe them if you want to.

Food Habit

The Jack Russell Terrier is a highly active breed that needs much food to keep them going. They will eat up to two cups of dry food daily, split into two meals. You can also feed them wet food if you prefer. They are prone to weight gain, so you need to keep an eye on their diet. You can give them a daily treat, but don’t overfeed them, or they will become overweight.

You should not give them table scraps or human food as this can cause them to become overweight and unhealthy. They are lactose-intolerant, so don’t give them cow’s milk or cheese. Instead, choose a good-quality dog food specially formulated for small dogs like the Jack Russell Terrier.

You will also need to ensure they get all the other nutrients they need for their bodies to function correctly, such as calcium and phosphorus.
