Price of a Labrador Retriever:

The price of a Labrador puppy in India can range from 4000-5000 Rs up to as high as 1 lac. The cost depends on the quality and the pedigree combination of the parents.

BUT, If you want a good quality dog with no genetic disorders then your budget should be at least 30,000 Rs.

Now, someone who has no experience with this will think why the price difference? A 4k dog is also a lab and the one which will be 30-40k will also be a lab.

Here are the reasons for the price difference:

A.The breeders who are selling the puppies for 8,000-10,000 Rs are mass breeders. They are illiterate people who have no idea about breeding. For them, breeding is mating two dogs and selling the puppies.

B.The breeders who sell for puppies for as high as 30-50k are professional breeders. They do not breed only for money. They want to improve the standard of a particular breed in the country. Those breeders have a very little amount of litter per year and their breeding stocks are health checked with no genetic disorders. Such breeders also provide health guarantees to the families who buy from them. Also, they will provide you with support on how to raise a puppy.

Temperament:

This breed is loving, affectionate, lovable, and patient. It is high-spirited, lively, loyal, and willing. Labrador Retrievers are friendly, good-natured, and love to play; they are superb with children. This dog loves to swim. It should never be aggressive. It is highly intelligent and easily trained.

This dog needs to feel as though it is part of the family, it craves human attention. It has an excellent, reliable, temperament. It may be reserved with strangers unless very well socialized as puppies. It makes a good watchdog. It is important to train the dog early not to pull on the leash, as it has a very strong neck.

It is an energetic dog, delighted to work and play hard. This breed is a big eater and needs regular exercise and moderate rations to avoid a tendency to become overweight. Labradors are a bit more dominant and independent than the Golden Retriever.

Some of its talents include hunting, tracking, retrieving, watchdogging, police work, narcotics detection, the guide for the blind, service dog for the disabled, search and rescue, sledding, carting, agility, and competitive obedience.

Colors: Black, Yellow, Chocolate.

Coat: Smooth, close, short, dense double coat without waves or feathering. It is easy to groom. Comb and brush regularly with a firm, bristle brush, paying attention to the undercoat. Bathe or dry shampoo only when necessary. This breed is an average shedder.

Living Environment:

The Labrador Retriever will do okay in an apartment if sufficiently exercised but will do best with at least an average-sized yard. It is moderately active indoors and loves to be around people, and not left outside.

LABRADOR FOOD:

Choosing a particular Dog food brand to count upon for the long term can be tricky, particularly with tons of pet food brands available on market. Simply, when it comes to feeding and "what to choose to feed", it would be natural for a pet parent to get muddled up between all those alternatives.
