The nutritional content present in cat food is more important than whether it's wet or dry. Our cats can be picky eaters, choosing the suitable food for the cats is tricky and a balancing act between a food's nutritional value and the cat's selective sense of taste.
Dry Cat Foods contain more carbohydrates than wet food because dry food use grains, such as cornmeal and rice, to process the kibble. Some cat foods, contain proteins from vegetables instead of meat, which is not ideal for your meat-eating cat.
Cats Needs
It is difficult to figure out the exact amount of food a cat needs. Cats need food that is less in carbohydrates and high in animal fats and proteins.
There are many classifications of cat food according to their:
Nutritional food is combined in a way to make something better.
Kittens, Adult, Senior / Geriatric.
Sensitivities and way of living (hairball prevention, neutered, indoor, sensitive skin, etc.)
Some dry foods contain a certain amount of carbohydrates with little or no grain or vegetable products.
When shopping for cat food, always read the list of ingredients that is present in it. Try to avoid unimportant ingredients made from corn, rice, beans, peas, or potatoes.
Cats usually drink little water throughout the day. They feel less thirsty compared to other pets. Sometimes they do not feel thirsty even though there is a chance of dehydration.
That's why Wet Food contains a lot of water content than dry food. Cats would eat in the wild, as small prey also contains more moisture than dry foods.
Extra moisture helps to keep the kidney, bladder, and urinary tract health for cats. Long dehydration can infect the cat's urinary tract and possibly lead to kidney disease.
Many people believe that dry food has the advantage of cleaning a cat's teeth because it's not as soft as wet food.
Regular dental cleaning of the cat's teeth should be done, depending on what kind of food you are serving. If the cat prefers dry food needs to drink more or you can sprinkle some water on the food.
If the cat is not used to eating at a fixed time, then the first step is to begin feeding in a fixed routine. Start by giving dry food 3-4 times a day and be sure to take it away after 20-25 minutes.
If you are changing from wet to dry foods, do not do it suddenly. Feed the pet a mixture of the two foods; slowly move out from the old food to the new food.
Dry Cat Food:
• Easily and without any risk you can leave it out and it will not get spoiled.
• Full of energy, meaning a cat can consume lots of calories quickly.

People believe that canned food is good and healthy for cats and dry food is not good and unhealthy for them. But the high moisture content in wet food is helpful to cats with urinary problems, diabetes, or kidney disease.
Higher protein levels are often found in wet food and are beneficial to strict carnivores like cats because they only eat the meat of animals and bird. Their nutritional needs and requirements are three times more than the protein of omnivores.
