Opthocare – XT eye drops contain dorzolamide and timolol. Dorzolamide is an ACE inhibitor. It reduces the rate of aqueous humor production. Timolol is a non-selective beta-blocker that decreases aqueous humor production. Hence the combination is effective in the management of primary and secondary glaucoma (dangerous eye disease with too much pressure in the eye).
Ingredients & Composition:
Each ml of Opthocare – XT eye drop contains:
- Dorzolamide Hydrochloide IP Eq to Dorzolamide 2% w/v.
- Timolol Maleate IP Eq to Timdol 0.5% w/v.
- Benzalkonium chloride IP (as preservative) 0.0075%.
- Aqueous vehicle q.s.
Indications:
- Opthocare – XT eye drop is indicated in dogs and cats to treat.
- Primary glaucoma.
- Secondary glaucoma.
Dosage and Administration:
- Turn the face of the pet upward, Pull the lower eyelid to make a pouch, and put 1-2 drops in the eye. Gently close the eye for 1-2 minutes, place one finger at the corner of your pet’s eye, and gently apply gentle pressure.
- Clean the outer area of the eyes with clean & dry tissue to remove tears and excess medicine if dropped in the eyes. Avoid contact with eyes.
- Wait at least 10 minutes before applying other medications if you are using another kind of eye medication (e.g., drops or ointments).
- Always use eye drops before eye ointments to allow the eye drops to enter the eye.
