Features:
Opthocare – XT eye drops contain dorzolamide and timolol. Dorzolamide is an ACE inhibitor. It reduces the rate of aqueous humor production. Timolol is a non-selective beta-blocker that decreases aqueous humor production. Secondary Glaucoma can be a result of decreased removal of fluid from the internal eye, Uveitis (Inflammation of the internal eye), Displacement of the lens, eye cancer, and chronic retinal detachment.
The major effect of Glaucoma includes an increase in IOP (Intra Ocular Pressure) which is painful. The normal IOP is between 10-20 mmHg whereas in dogs & cats Glaucoma often results in increased pressure up to 30-50 mmHg. It can result in decreased activity such as less desire to play, irritability, and decreased appetite. It also causes constant headaches or migraine. Animal shows, pain differently. If the pressure of the eye remains uncontrolled the optic nerve and retina degenerate and vision is permanently lost.
